Weekly Harvest

Happy Friday everyone!

Well it has finally arrived. Tomorrow evening I will be in a tree for the first time this year. There are a few wildlife management units that open early here in Pennsylvania. Otherwise, I’ll be waiting till the beginning of October to head back to the farm.

This past weekend I was in Ohio for a scouting trip. I’m looking forward to my fall trip to the Buckeye state. It was a long, hot day of hiking but, I think I have few spots that look promising. Great deer sign and the habitat and terrain screams big bucks—but time will tell.

I’ll keep this intro short this week, as I’ve promised my daughter an evening at the ballpark. I can’t complain, she likes ball and shooting bows! Before I go I’ll leave you with this week’s best deer news from the world whitetail web—enjoy!

DeerGro—Feed Your Food Plots: Curios if anyone has used any of these products. Seems too good to be true?

Depredation Tags—Are Farmers Gaming The System: Growing up in rural PA, “farm tags” as we call them were common. But I don’t recall anyone, family or otherwise, not using the venison. You’d think they could donate the meat if nothing else?

How To Keep More Deer On Your Property: Time wasters, stacking the odds so your target buck doesn’t make it to your neighbors property during daylight.

Six Out-Of-Office Replies That’ll Make You Proud To Be A Sportsman: These are the best ever!! I may try one from Nov. 3 – Nov 13?

When To Check A Trail Camera: Good reminders as the season approaches.
