Weekly Harvest: 8/26/16

Weekly Harvest

Happy Friday everyone!

Kids going back to school, football season about to start, and just this week I’ve noticed a dip in the temperature with cool summer nights that indicates fall is nearly here. My Ohio scouting trip is in two weeks and I’m pumped for that trip. I have some minor maintenance to do at the farm to remove some tree limbs that are partially shading one of my small fall food plots. Those two items along with washing all my clothes and doing a quick gear check, and I’ll be all set for the season to begin.

Of course the big news this week was, and is, the Under Armour conflict. I certainly have an opinion and will share my thoughts on our next podcast to come on Wednesday.

Until then, I’ll leave you with this week’s best deer and outdoor news from the world whitetail web—enjoy!

7 Killer Bowhunting Tips—Apple Trees And Other Fruits: I’ve been researching fruit trees as a possible addition to our farm. We have one apple tree, and it seems to be a popular area in the fall.

Aggressive Tactics For Early Season Whitetails: Getting after them before their bed to food pattern switches.

Why Willpower Is The Most Important Asset Of A Backcountry Hunter: Deer hunting may not be backcountry, but willpower definitely plays a role in the success of many hunts…especially as the early mornings begin to stack up over weeks of chasing whitetail.
